How is it? Local dealer has a couple leftover GT Sports they can be browbeat into dealing on.

I have a 2016 Forte5 SX which is this thing’s older, quicker cousin.
Two things I’d like to know for comparison:
1) Ride quality: how is it? Mine’s generally fine but it’s on the stiffer side, and hitting bumps mid-corner can be unsettling until you learn to trust it.
2) Transmission: mine’s the old 6-speed auto, I think these cars have now moved onto the DCT. Mine’s a bit dopey on manually selected downshifts but fine on upshifts (when using the paddles or the sequential manu-matic gate).
Any other weird quirks?

How is it compared to your Golf?

It sucks, man. The Mk3 Golf is the best car ever and mine is awesome and totally works right now.

How’s the transmission?
Is it fun?
Would it be a good daily?
What kind of gas mileage are you getting?

Snap one up. If the base model is this good, the sport has to be fantastic.

I’m just a little hesitant because the base gets the 2.0 and the Sport gets the 1.6. (Backwards much, Hyundai?)
But because they’re leftovers because they’re manuals, it’s half-tempting. I have a feeling they’re about to come off floor-plan.

The 1.6 turbo makes more power with a turbo, though.
And
what?
Where do you live and how much are they listed for?

201HP and a 6 speed in a 3000lbs package ?! What the fuck, did I die and go to the early 90's?
Right now they’re listing the base at $16,665 (before additional offers) and the GT Sport 6 speeds at $19,925. They’ve got red and white in 6 speed and a black with the DCT (at $20,975.) And that’s the expensive dealer.
Base with a 6 speed 40 minutes away? $15,460 ask. Actually there’s a half dozen 2018 GT Sports with manuals within 50 miles, all below $20k.

So you’re getting a new car then?
One realization I had writing my review was that, compared to a normal car from 22 years ago, all cars are now sports cars.

Honestly I’m shopping pretty much everything. I’m definitely getting a new car by end of month because lease is up and fuck no I am not keeping the Regal. (Just the fact that I can’t see the infotainment screen AT ALL in any sort of sunlight is enough to get it punted.)
But I’m probably going to get a WK Jeep with the 5.7 on a straight-cash deal. Which by this time next year will probably do the 0-60 in 5.7.
